Books Make Perfect Gifts
We believe books make the perfect gift and we aren't alone! Visit the web site www.booksaregreatgifts.com to hear authors and celebrities speak about giving books as gifts. Julie Andrews, for example, says books make great gifts "...because they're everyone's favorite things."
There are lots of reasons to give books...they are available on just about every subject, they are easy to gift wrap, and one-size-fits-all. We think Garrison Keillor said it best, "A book is a gift you can open again and again."
With Christmas coming, now is the time to think about buying and ordering books for everyone on your list. We will even gift wrap your purchases for free!
Some ideas for Book King Bookstore gift giving:
● For a friend who has always dreamed of visiting Italy, let her know you believe in her dream with a travel guide on Italy, an Italian phrase book, or a cookbook of Italian foods. You can even add a novel with an Italian theme, such as Under the Tuscan Sun.
● If you have a co-worker who is a news-junkie, select one of current New York Times bestsellers on a cutting-edge topic.

● For your fun-loving younger brother, why not try something from our humor section?
● If your daughter is starting the college search, you can help her along with a guide to colleges, SAT prep guide or a book on the options for studying abroad.
● Do you have a trivia-loving brother-in-law? You could pick the Guinness Book of Records or the Old Farmer's Almanac.
● For the native Vermonter you know (or someone who just loves Vermont) we have books about Vermont covered bridges, fiction by Vermont authors (such as Chris Bohjalian and Archer Mayer), and Debby Dubay's Greetings from Rutland, VT: Heart of the Green Mountains, which includes 247 antique postcards and contemporary photos of the area.
Not sure what to buy? The Book King staff is always ready to help you select something, but we also enjoy seeing our customer's creative gift selections. Recently we had a customer ask us to find his fiancee's favorite childhood book as a gift to her. It was out-of-print and took some digging and time, but we found it and she loved it.
Don't forget that we have gift certificates in any amount that are good for three years. Happy gift-giving! |
